The CHIGEE AIO-5 Lite camera has a conical face, which makes attaching a lens protector securely tricky. This kit solves that with a form-fitting Nylon shim that adapts the camera to the JK3D Sapphire Lens Protector. The install follows the standard lens-protector process, with one key added step: gluing the shim to the camera.

Before you begin
- Work dry. Install with the camera and all parts completely dry, in a dry environment — moisture or humidity sealed inside can cause fogging.
- Plan for the cure. After gluing the shim (Part 1), you must let it cure 12+ hours before installing the lens protector (Part 2). Don’t rush it.

Part 1 — Glue the shim to the camera
Apply glue only in a thin, even layer around the back half of the shim — leave the front clean so no glue can touch the camera lens. See the image below the video.
Part 2 — Install the lens protector
Wait for the cure. Let the shim glue set for 12+ hours before installing the lens protector. Do not install it before the glue is fully cured.
- Set the crystal and the TPU seal into the lens protector body first.
- Place the assembled lens protector over the camera and press firmly by the body into the front of the camera.
- Look for a dark circle forming around the lens where the TPU seal makes full contact — that confirms a water- and dust-free seal.
✓ You’re done when: the shim is fully cured to the camera, the crystal and TPU seal are seated in the body, and you can see the even dark ring of TPU contact around the lens.
Care tips
- Clean sand and grit off gently — even sapphire can be damaged in rare cases, and it’s more brittle than mineral glass, so it can shatter on a hard enough impact.
- Once the glass is clean, wipe a thin layer of Rain-X on the outer element to help rain shed off.
Troubleshooting
- Lens fogging: remove the protector, dry the camera and protector (warm, dry spot — not hot), then reassemble. Humid air gets sealed inside, so install on a warm, dry day rather than a cold, wet one.
- Water between the lenses: dry everything, then reassemble making sure the front glass is fully seated and the camera is pressed firmly and evenly to the front — keep back-pressure on the protector while sealing it.
- Optional (advanced): a very thin layer of waterproof dielectric grease around the front TPU seal can help. Use sparingly — too much is messy and hard to clean. Not generally necessary.
