After focusing for 6 years selling mods for Yamahas, and dash/action cams, I am happy to launch the first 3 products in the BMW Motorrad portfolio here. The GS ToolVault is one of my favorite things I’ve ever designed for a motorcycle. I spent close to a month doing iterations of the design, testing, breaking, bending, redesigning, etc…
Owning a high end BMW GS or GSA deserves a proper way to store the important tools and supplies you need when on a trip and the stock tool roll was an embarrassing setup. It was also inefficient and insecure in how it stored the tools in the space it had. I wanted to store more tools for the nav accessories and such as well and those small wrenches would easily fall out of the stock roll.
So I designed the tool vault with the idea that every tool has its place, and its easy to see if you are missing anything. I also wanted a better way to adjust preload without the big 19mm wrench they include (a wrench you can only turn about 1/4 of the way and it mars the shock adjusters), and designed a nice glove friendly 19mm hand wrench to easily tweak preload on a ride.
I kept adding more tools and more holders into the kit until I felt it was full, and here we are!
The ToolVault clicks in with a nice snap into place, and removes just as easily. It can even be accessed on the bike if needed.
I take a lot of pride in what I design, and this is one of my favorite items I’ve ever made in the 12 years of fixing problems with additive manufacturing.
