Yamaha FJ-09/MT-09/Tracer 900 (GT) Seat Slope Mod

Description

The FJ-09, FZ-09, MT-09, and Tracer 900 all leave the factory with the seat tilted noticeably forward. On a long day that slope quietly slides you into the tank, and you spend the ride pushing yourself back instead of settling in. This kit levels it out.

It raises the front feet of the seat by about 7 mm and leaves the rear where it is, so you get a much more neutral riding position with almost no change in seat height. It uses removable pads under the front of the seat plus offset tank bushings that let the bracket move up without pulling the fuel tank out of place. Every fastener is included, nothing is cut or drilled, and the whole job is reversible with hand tools.

Why it’s built this way

The obvious way to lift a seat is to shim the frame and call it done — but on these bikes that pulls the rear of the fuel tank out of alignment. Instead of asking you to live with that, this kit includes offset tank bushings that let the bracket move up while keeping the tank sitting naturally. Your stock spacers and washers slide into them exactly like the originals, so the tank stays isolated the way Yamaha intended.

Those bushings are printed in soft TPU rubber rather than rigid plastic, on purpose — the factory bushings are there to damp vibration, and a hard replacement would give you a harsher ride and more buzz through the seat and tank.

• Frame shims & foot pads — industrial-grade carbon-fiber PA12 nylon. High temperature, high strength, chemically resistant. Tested in harsh desert heat and winter cold.
• Tank bushings — high-temperature soft TPU rubber, matched to the stock bushing feel.

What’s in the box

• 2 × offset TPU tank bushings (rear fuel-tank mount)
• 1 × 6 mm carbon-fiber nylon shim for the forward seat mounting plate
• 2 × 6 mm carbon-fiber nylon forward seat foot pads (Velcro-mounted for easy removal — closer to 7 mm with the Velcro, which preloads the front feet of the seat)
• 4 × laser-cut industrial Velcro pads for mounting the foot pads
• 1 × alcohol wipe to clean the Velcro surface before install

Installing it

No drilling, no cutting, and fully reversible using the bike’s original hardware. The pads mount with industrial Velcro so you can pull them off or swap positions any time.

Shipping internationally? Orders ship via USPS with customs forms filed electronically. Any import duties or VAT are set by your country and collected on arrival. Tracking is emailed with your invoice.
