Description
This is a preview/prototype JK3D.us tool – I am selling the first 4 at a 40% discount to get feedback before selling more. – These are print-to-order right now, so expect a 2-5 day delay on shipping.
A unique alignment tool that uses the 60mm hub centric bores of Ford OEM rims (and others that have similar offset 60mm (inside lug diameter, the outside is ~64.5mm). These alignment plates use a unique anchor design that allows for easy attachment, and a very secure and consistent engagement with a simple hex wrench.
Because the tools use the wheel bore for mounting, the camber plate is true to the wheel regardless of the tire or rim diameter, and the Toe plates are always centered with the axel.
Fitment:
I have tested this on multiple Ford OEM Rims for the Ranger 2019+ MY. I tested on 18″ and 17″ rims. During this prototype release if there is fitment issues found I will offer a free replacement and free shipping of the replacement items. It may work on others that have the same wheel center caps.
This kit consists of: (Post-Prototype kits may be sold individually or with other changes)
Camber Plate:
A plate that can be used for quick and easy camber readings via an phone app, spirit level, or other tool. It uses the center hub as a true fixed surface for consistent readings. There are notches for using a phone app that will allow phone buttons to sit recessed for an accurate measurement. The sides are extended as well for additional surfaces to use.
Toe Plates (2x):
These are 2 brackets that allow a 36″ Angle iron to be fixed in a level, consistent and centered alignment with the wheel. These are made to be flexible as to keep the angle iron bar pressed on the tire with a consistent pressure to not deform the side wall. With this you can use 2 tape measures to do toe adjustments with a quick install and removal.
The Toe plates have a centering cut into them to align dead center of the angle extrusions. There are multiple mounting options based on wheel diameter and extrusion being used.
These kits are made with high impact Red PETG plastic (Gold was used for some testing work in the images) that will give a long service life and temperature consistency. The red color will make it easy to see if they are installed on the car.
How to use the kit:
I based these designs on some DIY Alignment videos and tools out there: Specifically, this video is very helpful: https://youtu.be/ycg-bVYZv2U?si=p9SWGg2Err_FoGx8 Based on feedback from the prototype period I will build up other instructions/videos.
Items Included with the kit:
- 1x Camber and 2x Toe Brackets with easy wheel bore locking mechanism
Items Required to do the alignment:
- 2x Angle Slotted metal segments (36″ recommended) Like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/2-1-4-in-x-1-1-2-in-x-36-in-Offset-Slotted-Angle-801357/204225747 (These can be sourced at most hardware stores, you can use any extrusion you want as well, they just need to be straight and true. You can also cut a slot into the extrusion to hold the tape measure with an angle grinder rather easily.
- Flat blade screwdriver to pop off the wheel hub center cap (they just snap in)
- 4x 5-6mm x 15 – 20mm bolts and nuts to attach the angles
- 2x Tape measures (at least 10ft length)
- 1x method to measure angles (Phone app, or other alignment tool that can read 0.1* resolution for angles) – I’ve also used an inexpensive laser tape measure – most have angle readouts on them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085NX87K3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
